Resumen

Civil construction is responsible for the generation of environmental impacts, mainly due to its high consumption of natural resources, together with the inadequate waste disposal resulting from this activity. In this way, the recycling of construction waste has been invigorating over the years due to the more sustainable construction. On the other hand, the disposal of PET bottles is abundant, being subject to environmental pollution, since it is a type of plastic derived from petroleum and presents a considerable life cycle compared to other materials. Based on this, the present research proposes to approach the reuse of PET bottles in civil construction, from their use as a fence system to their use on the roof of the building. In summary, PET bottles have a high mechanical and thermal resistance, and when attached to concrete, it has beneficial properties such as: toughness, impact resistance, retraction and durability. Moreover, because the incorporation of PET into concrete does not involve chemical recycling processes, it makes it an even more sustainable alternative. It is presented as a viable material to be used in the civil construction sector, besides being an economical alternative. In addition, it adds to the fact that some materials can be entered in the production of building materials, in order to obtain a sustainable material in conjunction with the purpose of the recycling.
