Thus, lectures were elaborated to be presented in public schools of João Pessoa in order to raise students' awareness of alternatives to the final destination of these residues. After the presentation in eight schools, a questionnaire was applied, in which the students were able to express their level of knowledge before the lecture, showing in these data a low understanding of the subject. In addition, the students were questioned about theme and it was analyzed the level of correctness, it was seen that the result was satisfactory, which means that they were able to understand more about the theme, making it clear that there was an awakening to the subject and showing the necessity for more activities such as that presented to produce an increasingly effective sensitization on the theme.
